Day 1 : Cochin
Upon arrival, your Passion To India guide will be happy to welcome you and help you check-in at your hotel where you can refresh and rest. A summary of your stay will be presented and, in the evening, you will visit the Cultural Center of Cochin.
Day 2 : Cochin
Cochin is a natural port created by the famous submerged mud banks Malabar that Vasco de Gama has placed on the world map.Visit Cochin Fort, Mattancherry Palace, Jewish Synagogue, St. Francis Church and the famous Chinese fishing nets. Night in Cochin.
Day 3 : Cochin - Periyar
After breakfast, proceed to Periyar. Check into the hotel. Later, visit the spice plantations with an English speaking guide. Enjoy a boat trip on Lake Periyar to observe the animals on the shores of the lake: elephants, Indian bison), deer, sambars, a variety of birds. Night in Periyar.
Day 4 : Periyar
Discover the Periyar Reserve. In the heart of the mountains you will have the chance to see elephants, Indian bison, sambars, deer, leopard, black bear, langur, lion tailed macaque, otter, giant squirrel, wild dogs, and colorful birds in their natural environment if you are lucky you can spot tiger too.
In the evening, proceed to watch Kerala’s martial art – Kalaripoyattu. Night in Periyar.
Day 5 : Periyar - Alleppey (Houseboat)
After breakfast, it’s time to head to the “Venice of the South” – Alleppey to explore and experience the Houseboat Journey. It is an incredible experience to discover the beauty of the Kerala backwaters. - On your way you will see the green fields of rice crops called paddy fields and the coconut farms.
Your luxury boat made in the ethnic style of Kerala has a living room open to the landscape, rooms with showers and toilets and a kitchen. You will enjoy the tranquility of the inland waters. This cruise will take you through the narrow canals, skirting villages, green rice fields, coconut farms, temples, churches.
You can admire the “snake boats”, the coconut beer bar, the village of Kuttanad, the lifestyle of the villagers and their activities around the coconut farm. The meals served on board will be typical dishes of Kerala. Enjoy candlelight dinner and you will be served with continental breakfast or Kerala style breakfast. Night on board in air-conditioned room.
Day 6 : Alleppey (Backwater Resort)
Your hotel in Alleppey is where you can enjoy an Ayurvedic massage. Relaxation day. Night in Alleppey.
Day 7 : Alleppey - Cochin
It’s time to pack after an unforgettable stay. Depending on the schedule of your flight you will have time to do some shopping in town. Then drive to Cochin International Airport to board your return flight.
